U.S. Bank has made significant investments in its mobile banking services, as it looks to serve a growing segment of its customers who value the convenience of digital banking.
According to the bank's Q2 earnings report, 50% of its customers use mobile banking, compared with 44% during the same period last year.
U.S. Bank added an Insights feature when the new app debuted in April. Through a personalized feed, Insights allows customers to view end-of-month cash flow analysis, warnings of potential duplicate transaction charges and a breakdown of spending by category.
U.S. Bank said additional features to Insights allows customers to earn more with their money by saving or investing.
Although U.S. Bank is growing its mobile users, it still trails behind other top banks including Bank of America and Wells Fargo.
According to Business Insider, 69% of digitally engaged U.S. Bank customers use the bank's mobile platform, compared to 75% for Bank of America and 79% for Wells Fargo.
